Eminem and Paul Rosenberg created Shady Records in 1999, 15 years ago. Since its inception, the duo have brought us classic after classic, and helped change the industry with some of their acts. We don’t get many greatest hits albums in this generation, but that’s half of what Shady XV is. Big singles from 50 Cent, D12, Obie Trice, Eminem, Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf make up the project. There are a few questionable choices like some of the songs from the latter two (“Hammer Dance” and “Let’s Roll”). Aside from the history of Shady, Shady XV boasts as a compilation featuring… continue reading
Anytime the words “cypher” and “Shady” are in the same sentence, it’s instantly going to cause fans worldwide to gush in anticipation. While the Shady gang kept people in suspense from the original drop date last week, can anybody deny that it wasn’t worth the wait? The six MCs are in their respective cities to spit a lengthy acapella. This question will be thrown around quite a bit more once the project drops, but, who had the best verse in this CXVPHER? For me, it was Royce Da 5’9″ who had the most memorable punchlines. Eminem, who took up seven… continue reading
It seems like Travis Barker is getting ready to deliver another album in 2014. Co-produced by Scoop Deville, here’s Travis’ new single titled “Cuz I’m Famous.” It’s actually knocking too. The line-up with Paul Wall, Hopsin and Yelawolf surely didn’t disappoint. Although, Yela’s verse is trying to do too much and falls short by a lot. The other two did some damage. Purchase it on iTunes now. Previously: Review: Hopsin – Knock Madness Follow @SermonsDomain
Yelawolf has been separating himself from the rest of hip-hop with experimental raps, but this is both a gift and a curse. On one hand, he’s abandoned a lot of what made him popular in the first place. But, I guess it comes with not wanting to be in a box, and surely he doesn’t fall into one. The Black Fall EP is five tracks produced entirely by DJ Paul with Rock influence in the production. Paul also lends a verse and Rittz is the only other feature. Stream and download it below.
Taking inspiration from Rock music, Yelawolf and DJ Paul’s Black Fall mixtape, hosted by DJ Whoo Kid, will be offered to all those who plan to trick or treat around the internet on Halloween. It was once billed as an album, however that didn’t seem likely. Settle for what you can do, because this project could send the two on another tour if they choose to. On “Light Switch,” DJ Paul takes a back seat in just handling the production allowing Yelawolf to go in for five minutes. Previously: Pill Ft. Yelawolf – I’m Hard Follow @SermonsDomain
Following his unfortunate departure from MMG in early 2012, Pill has been dead silent. Today was a pleasant surprise though when the ATLien decided to premiere a brand new joint, featuring fellow Atlanta native “YelaWolf,” entitled “I’m Hard.” Hopefully for us, this means Pill’s long awaited mixtape “Over The Counter Drugs” is coming sooner rather than later. Check out the single below. Previously: Pill – Bussin At Dese Haters Follow @Yancymckiddy
