Question? Ft. Bun B & Talib Kweli – I’m So Tall (Prod. By Chester French)

Boasting 37 songs, Xanax 3 has just hit iTunes. I can co-sign Question? to the fullest. The project is crazy, filled with bars, deep and easily his best one. Here’s the most eye appealing record from the bunch but definitely not the best. Still one of my favorites though. Also, check out his interview with Refined Hype to get to understand him a little better.

J: Any details you wanna give the readers about your upcoming LP, Xanax III?

Q: It is a very personal album. I haven’t put out any music out in almost 8 months because I was fighting Sony for my name/ likeness and my masters. It was a bitch, but I won. In that time period I grew as a person. I saw the real world again and you can hear (that growth) in this album. I approached it like it might be my last. I had to say and do what I never have said musically AND I realized I really don’t give a fuck anymore about the industry or the politics. I’m just having fun, doing what I love to do: make music.

Mr. Youtube finally decides to unleash the audio of this cut. No word on what it is for but it could be on God Damn Nigga It’s About Time. That is, if it ever drops. His long awaited mixtape, The Shawshank Redemption/Angola 3, is done and set to drop in September. Most likely, this is where it will land. Co-produced by Focus. Shouts to Dubcnn.

Gucci Mane Ft. Talib Kweli – Poltergeist

I don’t think anybody could’ve predicted such an odd collaboration. Both of them have such different styles and bring ‘em out on this Zaytoven(?) instrumental. Gucci gets his slow flow on while Talib rips into it with the fast paced bars. Shouts to Mr. X.

Talib takes some time out to speak on the Arizona Immigration Law. This is why I don’t watch news. Too much BS in this world. Via YOTB.

Talib Kweli – Ha Ha (Slow Down Son) Freestyle

We need more people like Kweli to come through and balance out the weak freestyles over instrumentals more often. Not to say that everybody who spit on this beat wasn’t dope. Most were. Lox, AC, whoever else I posted. Kweli also left this note through Tunji:

Hi Tek and I were recently in the studio talking about how dope that Fat Joe/Young Jeezy record was. So I decided to go in. I hope you enjoy! Look out for this on my upcoming mixtape extravaganza Early Mourning Signs with DJ Chaps, which will feature more exclusives like this.

The borough of Brooklyn is said to have 2.5 million stories to tell. An abundance of talent has emerged from Brooklyn over the years, but none quite like a prodigious talent known as Talib Kweli. From tales of urban life to romance, every shade of the Black experience has been presented throughout his career. Diggers Union representatives Hevehitta and DJ Unexpected have combined with Illroots to document his experiences with their new release “A Tree Grows In Brooklyn.” Inspired by the 1943 novel by Betty Smith, 30 tracks detail the life of a Brooklyn native who views life very differently from what many are accustomed to seeing. Rare/unreleased material, interviews and remixes combine to celebrate an exceptional, yet ongoing career. Be prepared to cop that new Reflection Eternal album “Revolutions Per Minute” on April 6th. Enjoy and be educated!
