Review: RiFF RAFF – Neon Icon

Review: RiFF RAFF – Neon Icon

It’s unlikely that Neon Icon will ever receive its due. The icon himself, RiFF RAFF, aka Jody Highroller, never has. His reputation as a white trash EDM Super Saiyan who stops partying just long enough to make joke raps is off putting to both die hard rap fans who dismiss him as a clown and casual listeners worried they may not be in on the joke. But while his enigmatic eccentricities will prevent Riff Raff from getting the credit he deserves as a skilled rapper and a great maker of pop songs, Neon Icon is one of the best rap… continue reading

DJ Noodles Ft. Riff Raff – Instagram

Instagram has become a everyday website/app for most people. It’s where selfies, thirst traps, various meals and tons of struggle lie. Featuring a Trinidad James sample, DJ Noodles gets Jody Highroller to drop a few bars on “Instagram.” The Miami DJ released his Sold Out Vol. 2 tape featuring new exclusives with Too Short, Nick Cannon and more, as well as remixes he’s created. Neon Icon coming this year. Previously: Riff Raff – How To Be The Man (Prod. By DJ Mustard) Follow @SermonsDomain

Riff Raff – How To Be The Man (Prod. By DJ Mustard)

Riff Raff’s Neon Icon is set to be full of notable names and producers (including Mac Miller, Diplo, Wiz Khalifa, possibly Drake & more). In hip-hop, we can expect the unexpected, so maybe “How To Be The Man” ends up popping big. The DJ Mustard-produced single is obviously catchy in both production and hook. It’ll do some damage, though. His debut album will be out on January 26, and this is on iTunes now. Previously: Riff Raff – Rose Gold Stripper Pole (Prod. By MLSM) Follow @SermonsDomain

Riff Raff – Rose Gold Stripper Pole (Prod. By MLSM)

Has Riff Raff begun some kind of weekly campaign that’ll lead into his debut album, The Neon Icon? For the second Sunday in a row, he’s graced the internet with something new. “Rose Gold Stripper Pole” has a danceable production from MLSM while the lyrically different Jody Highroller drops one verse and leaves on about the same amount in instrumental. Riff Raff, you’ll never know what he’ll do next. Having Boi-1da and Ryan OVO handle the production, the icee chain rocking rapper teams up with Cap-1 and gets some ad-libs from OJ Da Juiceman (although a verse would’ve been pretty epic next to Jody’s). In case you needed another Miley twerk reference, Riff has you covered: “diamonds twerking on my wrist like Miley Cyrus.” The Neon Icon is coming out January 28. The first single from Neon Icon wasn’t exactly plastered in big lights for the world to know. In a game where Riff Raff is continually dropping music and videos, it’s hard to specify. “Dolce & Gabbana” is the single that’s Jody being his usual, zany self. If you don’t rock the high-end fashion clothing chances are Riff doesn’t want to have sex. Grab it on iTunes now. Previously: Riff Raff – Started From The Bottom (Remix) Follow @SermonsDomain
