Review: Future – Honest

Review: Future – Honest

At last, Future’s sophomore effort is here. What a long seven hundred and thirty nine days it’s been since his debut, Pluto, dropped to a less than stellar commercial reception. Fans have suffered through the delay and subsequent cancellation of the Super Future/Fire Marshal mixtape, album pushbacks, name changes (Honest was originally and awesomely titled “Future Hendrix”), a nearly canceled appearance on Drake’s “Would You Like a Tour,” and even “Real and True,” the miserably bad promo single everyone wishes they could forget (“Bang, bitch!”). But Future’s also become a king of pop and urban radio, gotten engaged to Ciara, and… continue reading

Future – Rocky (Prod. By KE On The Track)

Future – Rocky (Prod. By KE On The Track)

“I’ma keep that fight inside me until my heart decay” Despite the whole Rick Ross fiasco with “Devil Is A Lie,” KE On The Track is still on track to drop I Am Music Pt. 1. There will be plenty of new records from the likes of Migos, Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan and more. For the first single, via HNHH, Future scraps with the big piece of meat hanging in the freezer on “Rocky.” According to him, this record is three years old and KE wasn’t supposed to put it out. Honest is coming and anticipation grows. Video: Future – Maison Margiela (Prod. By Metro Boomin’)

Remember when Birdman said “and we gonna be alright if we put Drake on every hook”? The same could be said about Future’s relationship with Metro Boomin’. Despite not necessarily having a hit for Honest (yet), these two ran through at least an EP’s worth of material last year and all of it was tough. “Maison Margiela” is some fine writing full of turn up moments and boastful amounts of money spent on clothes the common man can’t even try on. Metro recently tweeted that he and Future have a huge record on their hands. It’ll be exciting to hear… continue reading

Future Ft. Drake & Juicy J – Shit (Remix)

Future Ft. Drake & Juicy J – Shit (Remix)

Future’s “Shit” is about to get a treatment with a couple remixes over the next week or so. DJ Esco gets the jump on the first, featuring Drake and Juicy J, off his upcoming No Sleep tape dropping today. You couldn’t have picked a better combination than this. Drake’s name will spread this from coast to coast and Juicy J always turns up anything he’s on. Despite what Drake may have said, them shots at Kendrick are present, or he cleverly is aiming at somebody else. Honest coming in 2014. Update: Untagged version below. Previously: DJ Esco Ft. Future Ft. Diddy & Schoolboy Q – Shit (Remix)

Without further ado, the third and final remix to Future’s “Shit”. Doing the honors are none other than TDE’s Schoolboy Q, and Diddy. Both of them kill it too. This one, along with the two prior installments, will be included on Mike Will Made It’s forthcoming Future hosted-mixtape #MikeWiLLBeenTriLL, out December 23. Previously: Future Ft. Future Ft. Pastor Troy, Jeezy & T.I. – Shit (Remix)

After Drake and Juicy J graced remix number one, Future’s “Shit” gets the second, but not the last, remix featuring Pastor Troy, Jeezy and T.I. Much like “tear the club up” in the background, we have “ATL Hoe” on this one. Pastor Troy defended his world title belt and came out on top with a dope verse. Jeezy was okay, and T.I, who is about to have a big 2014, indeed kills it. Previously: Future Ft. Drake & Juicy J – Shit (Remix) Follow @SermonsDomain
