Asoka moves his strong words from audio to video in the official video to “Win This War.” From the comfort of his living room, he pens the lyrics of the single, while on the flip side goes outside to Hollywood to spread his message. Reach one, teach one. Lions In The West is coming out next year. Previously: Asoka Ft. Naia Kete – Win This War Follow @SermonsDomain
Asoka’s next album is Lions In The West. It’ll be coming in 2014, but here’s the first single. “Win This War” is a team-up with Naia Kete (best known for her appearance on The Voice). It gets a bit preachy in a good sense and has a strong message behind it. Previously: EP: Asoka – Man Of Steel Follow @SermonsDomain
With Man Of Steel hitting theaters today, Asoka and his go-to producer Rawkey got inspired to craft a seven track EP that fits into the film’s content. Asoka expresses how much of a fan he was of the super hero growing up saying, “I’ve always been inspired by the Superman character. He stands for truth & justice but at the very core of his being he feels lonely, conflicted and lost.” What a good concept. Stream and download it below.
As we get closer to March 5 and the release of Heart Of A Lion, Asoka releases the third and final video he shot while out in India last year. While this one doesn’t have any colorful sights, he keeps the focus on him as he sits in an all white bed reciting his lyrics as a method for us to look into his thoughts about “Power.” Directed by Amit Sharma. With assistance from former WWE and TNA wrestler Shelly Martinez (known as Ariel and Salina respectively), Asoka creates a visual for “She’s A Fairy Tale.” While he has a good time in the video, there’s some nice background information. This record is getting love from the folks in Asia who have heard it, so much that he created two versions of the song. In this one, he raps the first verse in Hindu and the second in English. Heart Of A Lion drops March 5. Previously: EP: Asoka – Kryptonite Tears Follow @SermonsDomain
Nobody like a pushback. It’s one of the worst things to see from a fan perspective. Sure, it’s understandable, but it still leaves a bit of a sting knowing that the wait has been extended. With Heart Of A Lion suffering a pushback until March 5, Asoka decided to come with a seven track EP titled Kryptonite Tears to make us forgive him for that. He worked exclusively with RawKey on the production.
