Killer Mike has been a beast for way too long. People are just now catching on, so Mike decided to go back in time to 2008. Back before weekly series became played out after Kanye’s legendary G.O.O.D. Fridays, we had Sunday Morning Massacres. We’d wake up, log onto the internet and listen to pastor Mike Bigga, as he was referred to in that time, preach the gospel. He spoke many sermons on topics of dick-riding in hip-hop (it’s only gotten progressively worse) and plenty of social issues. All of the records have been released, so the point of interest is… continue reading
Ro Ransom is acting like a director with his Ro Ransom Is The Future trilogy. The first disc was the main feature. It was what everybody was waiting on, and it didn’t disappoint. In fact, it exceeded all expectations as one hell of a cohesive effort. Most rappers would be done there, but Ro isn’t. Disc two is the deleted scenes/outtakes. Ro Ransom over-created, like most rappers do, and thus a need for this tape installment was born. On… continue reading
One aspect of Talib Kweli that he should be credited with is working with rappers early on in their careers. He’s collaborated with the likes of Kanye West, J. On The Cathedral, you’ll get a few new Talib Kweli records, including one with Big K.R.I.T., Curren$y and Kendra Ross. Aside from that, it’s a team-building exercise that introduces (or… continue reading
Raekwon has utilized the #TBT tag better than any photo that you’ve taken on a drunk night or reminding us how cute of a baby you were. He went further by remixing classic records every Thursday for 20 weeks. In that time, it’s easy to slip up and miss one, so the Chef was kind enough to bundle it all together with We Wanna Thank You. No, Rae, we want to thank you. It’s a unique series that gives life to records this generation might not be familiar with. Not to mention how refreshing it is to not have to… continue reading
