Below is a small excerpt from Ross about his health. I got to grab one of these when they hit news stands.

Well, so is Drizzy Drake on the latest issue of Complex magazine. This issue covers a lot of things ranging from Drake’s rise to fame to being criticized by the public. Read the full story over here.

“They nitpick at everything,” he says, shaking his head. “I can’t do anything. All they want me to do is dress so they can make fun of me. Otherwise, it’s hard for them. I don’t give people many reasons to dislike me. They have to find shit. They’re like, ‘Aw man, sweaters! He wears sweaters too much.’ Like, what?”

There is one thing that Drake fears though: “Dying, before I accomplish all this,” he says as the waiter arrives. “That’s it. My father taught me: ‘Don’t fear any man. Don’t ever fear another person.’ I don’t get myself mixed up with stupid shit. I get a lot of love. I don’t feel tension. I stand 6’2″. By no means am I the most threatening guy in the rap game, but there are very few people who will come up and say that shit to me in person. It’s always all smiles. That’s one thing I do not fear, anyone in this game. Nobody. Especially none of these guys that are paid to talk shit.”

To commemorate this achievement, he gets the November cover for XXL. In a bizarre twist of things, Tyler, The Creator is the person who gets the opportunity to interview Nas. I can’t say I like the idea but I’ll wait until the full interview comes out. It’ll be on news stands October 25. Also included is a review on Wale’s Ambition, a round table discussion with Maino and industry heavyweights, an interview with Mary J. Blige where 20 rappers ask her questions and more.

“Are you, like—this question might catch you off guard, but I ask myself this—like, when you wake up, like, are you happy,” Tyler asked. “Like, are you satisfied how everything turned out?”

“Dawg, I was naming my album Life Is Good because of how happy I am about how happy things have turned out,” Nas answered. “Sometimes I may wake up and wish my kids were living with me. That’s the only thing, you know what I mean? Our loved ones that are not around no more, like my mom. That’s the only thing. But other than that, everything is great, even when I’m alone. Even when there’s no one around.”

They did something similar to this in Vibe magazine back in June. *shrugs* I’m sure it’ll be a good read regardless. I wish the other members of MMG would at least get some shine off this too. Other articles/interviews include DMX, Birdman, Prodigy, DJ Drama and more. It’ll be available on September 20.

XXL’s new executive editor, Jayson Rodriguez, moderated a roundtable discussion between MMG stars Wale, Meek and Pill, to find out about each rappers role in the crew, what MMG represents as a team and what gives them an advantage over their competitors.

“I think it’s a plus that everybody got their own fan base, they got their own thing rocking in their own city, and they got their own representation of what they stand for,” Pill says. “So when everyone comes together, that’s all the fan bases combined. It’s a blessing to be able to rock with a bunch of different guys that are passionate about the craft and that know where they going and actually can foresee the future, when it comes to their music. I think that gives us a stronghold and a bit of longevity. And kind of an advantage also.”

In this tribute issue, you’ll read interviews from Tupac’s biological father, his ex-wife, The Outlawz and Pac’s first manager. Interesting to get this one. I’m excited to read what they have to say plus all the other things they include. You can pick it up on news stands August 16. It’s going to be a must-have.

For the special tribute issue, XXL Editor-In-Chief Vanessa Satten sat down Tupac’s biological father, Bill Garland. Among the interesting and revealing topics discussed, Mr. Garland offered a heartfelt description of his son’s giving nature. “[Tupac] cared for people,” he said. “That was his main thing. He really cared for people. I think that’s why he would get so upset when people tried to question his commitment, his love for Black women or Black men. The East Coast/West Coast, you know, that’s a fabrication. I don’t have to begin to tell you that. So when that was questioned, it bothered him. Because he would give his heart or soul. He was a giving person. He would give anything to people. He would go in a store. [If there was a] Black man who couldn’t afford a $1,500 pair of boots, he would buy ’em for him. Think that Black man would ever forget Tupac? That’s just the way he is. But I don’t think that he did it for that. He did it because he had it, and he didn’t. That’s the way he is.”

In my best Rock impression, he’s finally returned to the XXL cover to talk about the topics we all want to know about. Will Tha Carter IV possibly be his last album? Why won’t he ever record with Justin Bieber? Many more interesting things asked by Shaheem Reid. The issue goes on news stands July 12.

People who are good at art and design are needed to design magazine covers like this. A helpful resource for finding info about art and design degrees is http://www.accreditedonlineschools.org.

Asked, when he knew that the album was ready, Wayne said: “You don’t. When they tell you. When [manager Cortez Bryant] call me and tell me and say, ‘You got such and such date is your deadline to stop,’ I be like, ‘Aight.’ ’Cause I never stop recording, obviously. So it’s just on him to say, “Okay, stop. We’re gonna pick these songs, and that’s the album.’ That’s how we do it.”

“What is good about me is that I’m an interesting muthafucka. I’m Dwayne Michael Carter period! Whether I’m a rapper or not, I’m interesting. And that’s what my album’s gonna be about: me and how interesting I am.”

Update: Wayne says he doesn’t like “Dear Anne” at all. I can understand why he thinks that but it’s a good record. He could’ve always made it better though.. XXL has another quote about Mack and Cortez loving it.

“That was actually a record for Tha Carter III that just leaked,” Wayne told XXL last week in Miami’s Hit Factory. “It leaked out and everybody’s thinking that it’s going on Tha Carter IV ’cause I was actually gonna put it on Tha Carter IV . But I had been listening to it and didn’t like it. I don’t like it ‘cause the song, all the verses are old. And me being a perfectionist, I hate going with old verses.”
