With the Watch the Throne tour selling out every arena, this project is just what we needed. On The Blue Throne, Mick Boogie & Soulklap combine the best of both worlds. The tracks “Devil Makes The Song Cry” and “Jigga and Those Flashing Lights” might be the best two blends on here.

Mick Boogie:
“I wanted to do something different creatively. Once the basic idea was conceived, I invited Soulklap to burnish the project with extra instrumentation and breaks. It’s dark, gritty, grungy and soulful all at the same time. It’s low-res at times, even at high volume. Ten vintage Jay-Z vocals from the ten-year-old classic The Blueprint paired with classic Kanye originals and samples.”

I’m not a big fan of chopped and screwed music, but I am a fan of Watts & Big k.R.I.T. and to hear the two mash is crazy.
