Eminem called into Hot 97 this morning to announce Slaughterhouse will be at their Summer Jam. For those not on the East Coast that aren’t attending, the big news comes in the form of Em saying he’s beginning work on his new album. I wouldn’t cross my fingers for a 2012 release, though. Being tight lipped about it means there isn’t much to say yet.

After the multi-platinum Recovery, there’s a very high expectation surrounding whatever he does next musically. That album was the true comeback for Marshall and a classic at that. It’s clear that he still has it and will be able to deliver. Still, there’s a lot of questions that don’t have answers but will eventually. Will he step outside that comfort zone and surprise us with something new? At this stage in his career, who will he reach out to for production and features?
