I became a Kid Cudi fan by accident. “Day N Nite” never draw me into Scott’s world. I vaguely remember checking out Man On The Moon just off the strength of people talking about it. It changed my perception of Cudi. A masterpiece, a work of art and one of the few albums I like to call classic in this era. The way that the entire thing flowed with Common narrating through some scenes. It was that drug-influenced creativeness that can’t be duplicated sober.

High standards prevented Man On The Moon II from reaching it’s peak. And arguably, it wasn’t really up to par with his debut. Don’t get it twisted, there were a few great records that’ll always get played. As a whole, it lost touch. The story or lack of didn’t help push it all.

The old Scott is dead…slit wrists

Announcing the murder of the old Scott Mescudi crushes the hopes for future music that is reminiscent to our old friend. I’ve been afraid to click play on the WZRD album. Rock meets Hip-Hop is something I’ve never fully enjoyed. Lil Wayne did a lot of damage with Rebirth. I haven’t peeped out any of the leaks or nothing off it. It’s a weird feeling. Artists go sober and you see how much they change, or, in their terms, evolve. Once you gather a certain fan base, it’s really hard to keep switching it up. After getting frustrated with his label’s undershipping, Cudi went on Twitter to express his anger and also say he won’t be doing the third installment to the Man On The Moon series until 2014. Man.

Ok so just a heads up, my weak ass label only shipped 55k physicals cuz they treated this like some indie side project tax right off. So i apologize on behalf of my weak ass major label. And I apologize for the lack of promo, again, my weak ass major label. They tried to rush me thru this so i can just give em another MOTM, but guess what? Fuck that, next album is WZRD. MOTM3 on hold til 2014. who mad??? not me and @DotDaGenius : ) So its def gonna be tough to find one in the stores guys, I’m sorry about that. I gotta go out and find one too, becuz my weak ass label never even gave us a copy of our own album. FAIL!!! Im lettin Universal Republic have it, fuck it. What they gon’ do, spank me?? hahahaha

I wonder if rap can play out like a soap opera. Maybe next week or next month the old Kid Cudi will reemerge in some oddly written plot. That’ll strike the interest back. Until then, I’m not sure if I can rock with this new guy anymore.
