Being a lyricist is pretty common in 2011. However, being a female lyricist is a little less standard. That’s why Jean Grae stands out so much in the game. She’s in a lane where not too many people can come close to her abilities. Mix that in with her superhero powers of being an asshole and a comedian to get the full package. In our interview, she shows off the comedic side when asked about her superhero powers, talking about whether she likes cake or cookies more and describing her upcoming book called The State Of Eh (coming after her album). In terms of the album, she reveals one obvious feature in Talib Kweli (Jay Electronica will not be on it) but explains the long five year delay for Cake Or Death.
