The definition of EP has been greatly stretched. People like Rick Ross have confused the public as to what an actual EP, Extended Play, is. An artist like Willie The Kid respects the craft of the EP and exults it with Never A Dull Moment. The six track project is entirely produced by Lee Bannon and has been in the works for some time. Trying to perfect a project to live up to it’s title isn’t an easy task.

As an artist, Willie has always had his own signature sound and Lee Bannon’s production compliments it while making it better. He has his own style of rapping that takes time to fully understand the beauty of his lyrics. “M-40 Weighs A Ton” isn’t just some type of Gun song as you may suspect. He spits about Fidel Castro and the U.S.

His strong point comes with the story of a talented Basketball player, known to everyone as E, who ended up getting caught in some street trouble. This comes in the form of “News Flash”. It’s crazy how he was able to tell a whole story in less than two minutes. Imagine if he had the time to extend it. The potential would’ve been greater.

The guest appearances are kept to the minimalist appearances. La The Darkman graces a pretty nice, different flow pace verse on “The Necessary Way”. Then rounding out the features is Curren$y on “Sky Miles”. With the amount he spits, he gets the job done well.  It provides a good balance that adds a little more without taking away from it being Willie’s EP.

Clocking in at only 13 minutes, this will definitely leave WTK fans hungry. It’s the intent of it but it still satisfies the fans. The only compliment is the length but other than that the music is solid. You can hear that he spent the time to perfect it. If you take the time to actually study Never A Dull Moment, it should keep you busy until his full length LP comes out.
