It’s time to announce the first selectee for my 2010 freshmen list.

Alley Boy was a definite pick because for the last three months, he’s been consistent with quality street music. He got out of prison last year and went straight to work.  Big Bank Black and Alley built up the Duct Tape Ent. name to a nationwide underground level in less than a year. The Zone 6 Atlanta native released his first tape with DJ Scream, Alley Boy Da Don, early September.

Then, the next few months showed Alley’s diverse catalog grow as The Empire made it his mission to bring Alley to the entire internet. Last month, alongside DJ Holiday and The Empire, he released his highly-anticipated Definition Of Fuck Shit mixtape. Oh, did I mention that he is signed to Atlantic? Haha. I can tell if Alley keeps up with the good music that he’s been doing, he’ll be the label’s top priority by the end of 2010. You can also expect the next mixtape to be hosted by DJ Drama. More details coming later. For now, hit the jump to hear two of my favorite Alley joints, download his last mixtape (tagged and untagged) and see his “Throw It Up” video.
